The Corona pandemic has caused and continues to cause health and economic emergencies around the world. Therefore, it was self-evident to me to support various initiatives that help people directly.
My heart always feels with my home country - and amateur football in Gladbeck still means childhood to me today.
As a former youth player of BV Rentfort, I am aware of the concerns of the local football clubs, which were not allowed to enter their sports facilities for several months. Thus they were unable to generate any income from the suspended games. The running costs, on the other hand, led to a considerable financial imbalance which, in the long term, should have particularly affected youth football.
The existence of the Gladbeck football clubs must not be threatened by the Corona pandemic. With my help, I hope that Gladbeck's children and young people will continue to find a football home in the city's clubs. It is a great concern of mine that children have a place in the future, where they can receive care and life supported as I experienced it back in my childhood. I am still incredibly grateful for this today.
Because one thing is clear: without Gladbeck there is no Paris.
